  • Vihar Lake

Vihar Lake in Mumbai is the largest lake in Mumbai. Located in close proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the lake stretches across 27 miles. The lake is one of the main sources of potable water in Mumbai. Nestled within hills and foliage of vegetation, the Vihar Lake, Mumbai is famous for the migratory and also the native birds. With a serene environment, this place also has a sunset point that would give you the beautiful view of the sunset. The northern banks of the lake has a “water treatment plant” which is outfitted with water pipelines that runs across the eastern fringes of the Vihar lake. Although the public doesn’t have the permission to visit the lake, yet the tourists who are interested can request the park authority’s permission. You can reach the Vihar Lake through trains, buses, autos and taxis.

  • Powai Lake

The Powai Lake is located in the Northern Suburb of the city of Mumbai. In close proximity to the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, this artificial lake was built in the year 1890 by the British in 1890. It is among the popular lakes in Mumbai that got its name from Framaji Kavasji Powai Estate. Being only 25 km away from the Central Mumbai, the Powai Lake is the perfect place for you to withdraw yourself from the chaos and turmoil of the city life.
